Why this site

I spent years working with executives making AI decisions with only vendor pitches and enthusiastic press articles as their sources. The projects that followed often shared one thing: they were built on false premises.

Not because the decision-makers were incompetent. Because they had no access to a source that said things plainly, with evidence, with nothing to sell.

hype.exposed is that source. We take apart what deserves to be taken apart. We acknowledge what genuinely works. We cite everything. And we sell nothing.

Who does this

François Aichelbaum. Founder of Privateer, technical strategy consulting for executives. Neuroatypical, curious about everything, with a taste for complex systems and inconvenient answers.

How we work

Every article is written with a verified primary source for each factual claim. Interpretations are flagged as such. The steelman (best version of the opposing position) is mandatory on any contested point. Corrections are dated and visible.

We explicitly separate facts, interpretations, and opinions. A fact is sourced. An interpretation is flagged as the author's reading. An opinion is clearly marked as such.

The site is published in French, English, German, Spanish and Italian.: full coverage depending on audience.

Funding

No advertising, no sponsors, no affiliate links. The site is funded by Privateer. Editorial independence is non-negotiable.
